While the game successfully packages a Metroid Prime experience onto the DS (no small feat), the controls can give you wicked hand cramps.

Playing Metroid Prime on my DS was good fun while sitting on a plane. The use of the dual screens is well done, as is the input system with the stylus, very slick.

The cramp problem rests in the fact that you must support the DS with one hand and mash the trigger button to fire using that same hand. This is especially painful in boss fights, where I would have to pause the battle just to shake it off and give my hand a break.

I heard that Nintendo offers a thumb-attachment to put a stylus tip on your thumb, which would allow you to hold the DS normally and move your thumb around the screen. This supposedly reduces or eliminates the cramping, but I do not have said attachment, so I cannot say either way.

Aside from that, the game is everything you would expect from Metroid Prime, complete with good graphics and sound, interesting puzzles, cool boss fights, the works.

This title is definitely worth the time, but be prepared to deal with the pain ;)
