The intro for the Tet Offensive was clear and comprehensive. History, motivation, awesome job!

However, I figured out a concrete problem that I have with the game. In games like Halo, you go into an area and the challenge is to win the fight. Clear the room. Sometimes the objective is different, but generally the goal is to clear the bad guys out.

In Men of Valor, clearing enemies is generally NOT the goal. In fact, it is usually impossible to do this, as the spawn points keep generating new VC or NVA troops until you trigger them to stop. This would be ok I suppose, but the game is completely inconsistent with what happens in each area. Sometimes the spawn points are finite, sometimes not. Sometimes you should stay and fight it out to clear the area, sometimes not.

It is the inconsistencies that cause the frustration. The difficulty is not really the issue. The combat is still rewarding and winning is still satisfying, but the inconsistent application of rules and functionality are lame.

Quick example: One objective is to "destroy the bunker with grenades, ...". I left a pile of grenades just on the hill below my position. I fall back some 30 yards to pick up the grenade cache and get the Mission Failed screen because I abandoned my mission. Sure.
